Berkeley Health Sperm Count Self-Test is an at-home in vitro diagnostic kit for the qualitative estimation of sperm concentration in human semen. It is intended as a preliminary test.

Product details

• The kit contains one sperm test cassette, pipette, collection cup, desiccant bag, 3 mL staining solution, 3 mL washing solution and instructions for use.
• Results are read by comparing the colour of Test Well A with Reference Well B; a darker colour indicates a higher sperm concentration.
• The test uses human semen as the specimen and is supplied as one test.

Care instructions

• Store in the sealed pouch at room temperature or refrigerated at 2-30C, away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
• Do not freeze or use after the expiry date. Once the test card pouch is opened, use it as soon as possible.
• Dispose of components according to local regulations; handle specimens as potentially hazardous material.

Directions

• Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and place it horizontally on a flat surface.
• Using the supplied pipette, dispense one drop of semen into sample well A.
• After the semen has soaked into Well A, add three drops of blue staining solution and leave for 1-2 minutes.
• Add two drops of transparent washing solution, leave for 1-2 minutes, then read the result immediately by comparing Well A with Reference Well B.

Warnings

• Read the package insert before performing the test.
• For use only as an in vitro diagnostic test with human semen; do not use other body-fluid specimens.
• This is a preliminary test. Discuss repeatedly negative results with a doctor or medical professional.
• Avoid bubbles when adding specimens and solutions, and follow the specified timing instructions.
• Do not remove the liquefying powder from the collection cup.
• Do not use if the foil packaging is damaged or opened. Keep away from children, do not swallow, and use externally only.
• If colour identification is difficult, ask for help reading the test.
